Getting Started
The EAA (Directive 2019/882) is an EU law requiring products and services sold in the EU to be accessible to people with disabilities. It applies to e-commerce, banking, transport, telephony, e-books, and consumer hardware. The compliance deadline was June 28, 2025.
If you sell digital products or services to EU customers and have 10+ employees or over €2M annual turnover, the EAA likely applies. Use our free Scoping Wizard to check in 60 seconds.
Businesses with fewer than 10 employees AND under €2 million annual turnover are exempt from EAA service accessibility requirements. However, the exemption does not apply to physical products like ATMs or kiosks.

The EAA references EN 301 549 (the European ICT accessibility standard), which in turn references WCAG 2.1 Level AA for web content. Our tools cover WCAG 2.2 Level AA, which is a superset.
